7 Ways to Heal your body Naturally

Today I want to talk about the different ways you can heal your body naturally and activate your body’s own healing and regenerating ability. There are many ways that we can heal our own body.  Whether we have suffered injury or trauma, to recovering from emotional abuse, or just plain everyday stresses, it’s important to know there are ways to heal.

So firstly, let’s talk about how to get your body into a healing mode. We all have the ability to heal within us.  If we fall over and cut ourselves, our body will start this miraculous process of self-regeneration, and within a few days, there will be no more cut.  So why if we have tension or back pain or any pain is the body not healing?? To ask this question is the first part of the puzzle.  Most of us just seem to be “OK” with the fact there is something wrong with us.  We pop to get some pills and just settle with the fact that that’s our lot in life.  While that might be the path you want to take, others among us don’t want to settle.  We want to do something about it.

Take Responsibility.

Is this YOU? Firstly you need to take responsibility for the fact that YOU created that pain, problem or tension.  It was something about the way you do you and the way you live life.  You are in charge of everything about you.  Take ownership of your own body and the things that happen to you.  This is the first part of healing, as hard as it may be for some of you.  You got this.

Reclaiming parts of you.

Now you have reclaimed parts of you that you have wanted to disconnect from, we can get on with the healing.  We need to take a journey inward to identify all there is about the pain we feel;

  • Where does it show up in your body?
  • When does the pain come? In the morning/afternoon/evenings/nighttime?
  • What does it feel like?
  • Does it radiate?
  • Does it change patterns?
  • Where are the borders of the pain? start to map it out on your body.

You should also do this with emotional pain. When you feel into the discomfort of the emotion you are feeling.  Where do you feel light up in your body? How does it communicate with you?

  • Does the pain stop you from doing anything?
  • Does it show up when you are in certain situations or talking with certain people?
  • Try and identify all you can about the discomfort. Connect with your pain.

“The only way to resolve the pain is to go through it”

You can’t hide from it, run from it, escape it.  You need to learn from it, so don’t hesitate and start getting in touch with yours NOW.

Meditation.

When I have done the above, and really got in touch with what’s occurring in my body, I like to do some meditation work, over the course of a few weeks.

These focused mediations help you to connect deeper with what’s going on.  It will allow space for your mind to flow to show you anything else you might not have noticed before.  This will be a safe environment for you to experience yourself and your pain.  Give yourself permission to just “be” with the discomfort as it is, without the what to change it.  This will allow you to hear its authentic message.

Entrainment.

After I have connected deeper with my discomfort then I always follow this up with an entrainment.  I book to see my own Network Practitioner.  This bodywork allows me to liberate any bound energy that might be stopping my healing process.  It allows me to experience my body and mind and help rebuild connections between them that might have been disconnected because of pain and trauma. 

The entrainment helps build a bridge between the past me and future me and liberates energy to help me get there.  I can be quiet within myself, and at peace with whatever emerges during the session, free to express my pain and emotions however they show up during the session. I always feel so much freer, less tense, and clearer in my mind afterwards.  This clarity usually helps me refocus on what I want most from my life right now, and what needs tweaking to help me live my most authentic self.

Connective tissue and bodywork.

Between my entrainments, I always do some form of bodywork within the connective tissue to continue my development and healing.  This involves hands-on connection to liberate tensions and realign your body by yourself.  Have a look at some of my videos here.

These sessions can range anywhere between 5-15 minutes depending on how much I want to work on, and what is actually coming up.  If the day has been hectic and busy, and my mind is buzzing the session will most likely be a long one.

Sleep.

It’s always important to me to get my body in a regenerating sleep mode before I go to sleep.  I find when I do this my sleep quality if so, much better, and I get the REM sleep I need.

If you want your body to heal, then you need to get good sleep.  This is the simplest, easiest way to help you and your body heal.

You can start integrating that right now. You must be consistent with your efforts. Healing doesn’t happen in a day or a night for that matter.  It happens over a period of time.

Not just about letting go.

A common misconception about healing is that you need to let go, or the wound or trauma that has happened to you.  Whilst this is necessary its only part of the story.  Have you ever wondered why you keep coming back to the same traumas, the same things that you need to let go of time and time again?  Why do they keep coming back?

Letting go is a great theory, but then what?? You will just have an empty space. 

How about asking the question, if I let go of my anxiety, what will be in its place? If I didn’t have pain here anymore what would I like to see in its place? When you have the answer to this question, you can now change your focus and move forwards.

To focus on letting go is focusing on the loss of some sort.  You don’t really want to let go of anything because you will never “get rid” of what has happened to you.  You want to instead replace this pain with something that you really want more of in your life.  What would this be?

My experience.

For me, I am focusing on more trust and love in my life, and also expressing more excitement. When I get pain it’s normally in a headache on the right side of my head, (usually when I am anxious or fearful) and some tension builds between my shoulder blades (usually when I close my heart).

These patterns are ones that I am working through, and I know when they show up, I can stop myself and ask; if I continue doing what I am doing, I know where this road is going to lead me.  Do I want to keep going down that path? 

Instead, I focus on more trust in myself and in the universe, more love and allowing myself to be loved by others.  When I switch my focus (this is a conscious choice) I experience myself differently in an instant, and I can see myself making different choices and the pattern shifts.  Every time my old patterns show up, I MUST reclaim the new ones for myself. I MUST do this every time, as I am teaching myself how to do something that is not what I unconsciously know how to do.  Eventually, it will become unconscious.

I might hear you say – but this seems like a lot of hard work because this is what is needed to shift things.  In the same way, as it’s not easy to lose weight, or exercise every day, but doing a little bit every day, will get you closer to your goals until eventually, it will become second nature to you.

How long will that take??

My answer is simple.  As long as you need.

That will be a different time frame for all of us.

When I asked a different question and saw my health problems in a different way, it was easy to become more aware of what I was doing to myself on a daily basis.⠀

I needed to let go of control, create more flexibility, Become more adaptable to changing circumstances. Also trust more in the process, surrender to the universes plan for me.. Connect more with feminine flow and allow that energy to come through and express more fully... ❤️❤️⠀

😫When I was a teenager I had terrible health, badly balanced hormones, chronic constipation and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Along with a bunch of weight that I never seemed to be able to loose. 😫 ⠀

I had tried everything from diet changes, exercises, medication, Bowen technique, chiropractors & abdominal massages, but nothing seem to have any long term effects🤨 ⠀

💖Until one day I stumbled upon the realisation that there maybe something more, and that what was needed wasn’t just a quick fix, but an up haul of my perspective on my own health. 🙌🙌⠀

I began to realise that what I was doing (how my body and mind was responding to my environment) was responsible for building tensions in certain parts of my body (stomach area mainly)⠀

I began to gain awareness of what I was doing to myself on a daily basis. I questioned whether if I began to make changes and responded to situations/people differently whether that would make a difference to how my body was?? How my health was?? 🧐⠀

And guess what? over years of creating new patterns and behaviours, I am pleased to say, my constipation resolved about 5 years ago now, and I haven’t had any symptoms from my PCOS either for about 6-7 years.  I lost a tone a weight (approx10kg) and I have never felt better 💪⠀

Two years a ago my hubby and I walked across America from Mexico to Canada, and we now are blessed with a beautiful boy Jack 🤩🤩🤩⠀

I believe my symptoms where manifested due to behaviour patterns affecting the way I was holding my body. Once I had figured out what I needed to change, the hard work started, boy did it pay off 😁 ⠀

There are really only two ways of looking at things that stress us out and how to work around it. ⁣

Either you change or your change the external environment.⁣

If your getting stressed 😫 even over the smallest things you need to analyse what your going to do about it. ⁣

It’s OK to get stressed 😩 about something’s/ sometimes, but if your getting stressed about the same thing... over and over then something needs to change and you have 1 of 2 options. 🧐⁣

Take a good look at lightening your load and where you can lighten it. 💜💜💜⁣

Sometimes in order to move forwards we need to leave other things behind.  It’s the natural part of things, otherwise we stay exactly the same. As humans we like growth 👆 ⁣

Where could you grow next in your life and what should you be leaving behind ?? ⁣

Since jack is now a toddler I have been in a reflection period on my actions as his mum. 

🧐🧐I have come to the realisation that I keep referring to my toddler as “naughty”. I will say phrases like, “he’s really pushing my boundaries” or “he’s getting his naughty streak” 

I realised I have been conditioned by others and there own experience of toddlers, as we hear 👂 all too often that toddlers =naughty. And parents saying... oh you wait until the “Terrible two’s”.

❇️ I have been looking into my reaction when I see Jack do something that I don’t think is acceptable. He likes to throw the plum slate from our garden in the back door.  He thinks it’s the best thing in the world. 😂

At first my response was to say “no” rather sternly. In reflection I couldn’t understand why he just laughed in my face. After a time this wasn’t working. 

✅✅I came to my own conclusion that I shouldn’t focus on what I DONT want but what I DO want. 

I don’t mind him throwing but he must throw outside.  So I worked to change my language. He is starting to understand 🥳 

If I put myself in his shoes, it’s clear that he thinks throwing stones in the house is great, because it’s makes a funny noise on the kitchen tiles, he can throw quite hard, and he was getting my attention. What more could a little boy want 😍

REALITY 👉 he isn’t actually being naughty.  He just doesn’t know any different. So it’s up to me to teach him. 

How often can you fully step into another’s shoes and understand why they do the things they do?? 💖 Can you understand?? 💖 Do you want to understand??

The more you can do this the more ease you will have in life and less resistance you will get from others. 🙌 

In my example, jack learnt a good lesson and it was relatively easy once I was able to step into his shoes and view his world 🌍 

We are all doing the best we can with the tools we have, and if we can understand another’s actions we can adjust our language and response, which could be much more supportive 💖

➡️When we build tension in the lower neck or have stiffness in the lower cervical vertebrae often it is related to the emotion frustration and anger. ⁣

👉If anger hasn’t been fully expressed we have the potential to build tension here. 🔆 ⁣

🙄🙄As a society nowadays it’s become unacceptable to show anger, as it’s deemed as wrong or inappropriate... so loads of us keep it to ourselves. ⁣
⁣
Anger is still an emotion that is designed to protect us, and in modern life it’s related to standing up for yourself and saying what you think and what’s on your mind. ⁣
⁣
🌟🌟Especially us English, this goes against our culture, we were told speak when spoken to.  In result it silences us and our true feelings.  Which makes us feel less than, or that our opinion doesn’t matter. ⁣
⁣
👆👆this is a pattern culturally we must overcome... as our opinion does matter and must matter, just like everyone else’s. ⁣
⁣
❌Don’t keep the tension within. It’s not good for you.  And if you have so much anger then you must create a safe outlet for that anger first, before confronting the situation. ⁣

I have a story for you. Yesterday I was having one of those moments.  The pressure was mounting, and I felt like I was swamped. My son is going through a transition and our rhythm together has been completely out. I haven’t been sleeping well, not easily falling asleep, and I was struggling to keep up with all the things everyone was wanting from me, and I felt like I was dropping ball and feeling a failure. 😢😢⁣
⁣
📞 I called my husband and told him this, and asked if we could postpone our plans for the weekend because I just couldn’t face doing anything else.  I also said.... ⁣
⁣
AND THIS IS BIG...🙌🙌🙌🙌⁣
⁣
That If he would come home after his week away instead of going to his folks. He of course said yes, but I also said that I wasn’t sure if that was what I wanted and that I was feeling low, and making a decision from this place might not be the best thing.⁣
⁣
👉👉The thing is that you will do anything to get yourself out of this horrid negative place, because it SUCKS !! But I didn’t want to do this... I was quite happy sitting with these feelings because it’s a natural part of BEING A HUMAN. 💖💖💖⁣
⁣
💜I said that I would make a decision when these feelings had passed, as I would then be making them from an energy rich place and seeing the bigger picture. ⁣
⁣
Today I felt like I was starting to emerge from the chaos.  I was in a much better place to see and think clearly. 🙃🙃🙃⁣
⁣
💜The moral is don’t make a decision from a low energy place, be present with these feelings. Make sure you have someone to share with that will just listen, and not try to fix. ⁣
⁣
➡️There is nothing to DO here but be. Fully embrace all your emotions and they pass so much more readily ❤️❤️❤️⁣

There is so much to be fearful of right now, but you don’t need the extra stress. ⁣

When we are fearful and anxious we aren’t going to be thinking clearly, our system is in defence. We are in survival mode. ⁣

Perhaps your feeling like your just about making it through each day and just have enough energy to get to bedtime before having to start all over again tomorrow. ⁣

Quite often when we have anxiety we don’t know what to do with it. It’s overwhelming us and we can’t seem to create a different emotion.  I’m telling you it doesn’t have to be that way. ⁣
⁣
When you feel this emotion I want you to be present with the feelings that come up.  We all feel anxiety, it’s part of the human experience, it protects us. It’s important. 🌟However when you feel it all the time it’s become a pattern and a habit that you need to shift. ⁣
⁣
I suggest starting with setting an intention and allowing your mind to think about TRUST ❇️❇️ ⁣
⁣
When we completely TRUST there is no place to be anxious.  We come from a place of surrender, which will bring different perceptions and behaviours to a situation. 💟💟 ⁣
⁣
Next time you feel anxiety come up I urge you to allow your mind to think about trust, and ask YOURSELF.... ⁣
⁣
🤜How can I be more trusting in this situation? ⁣
🤜How can I surrender to the bigger plan for me? ⁣
🤜How could i bring more surrender to my body right now and release any tension I might be holding.⁣
⁣
This is a higher intention and vision I have for you right now.  Ultimately when we completely trust, anxiety has no place and does not take hold of us. ⁣
